CLINIC FORMAT
Committed to Excellence
Sessions will be offered in 50 minute blocks. Time will be split between instructors, and will be focused on proper skating techniques. We also provide on-ice video feedback for all skaters
We specialize in creating power through correct use of edges. Body positioning and correct technique which are vital to creating a good skater. Learning begins with slow repetition until good habits are developed, once mastered they are transferred to full speed.

New this year ! All clinics will just focus on power skating. We've decided that our best way to make an impact in improvement over the summer is to solely focus on skating. So are Skills and Skating clinic will be put on hold for this summer.

Concentrated Power Skating – These clinics are for focused elite athletes who want to make an impact on improving their skating ability. Each session starts with an edge warm -up and splits into smaller groups for more focus on specific skills. Skaters will be divided by level.

Skaters should register for the level they will be during the 2024-25 season. For Example, A second year Peewee B skater should register for the Thursday Bantam Clinic. Or a first year Bantam AA player should register for the Monday Bantam clinic.

MEET THE COACHES
KATHLEEN GAZICH
As a Professional Skaters Association Master Rated Coach, Kathleen has served as a skating coach for 30 +years in the Twin Cities area, instructing all levels including athletes at the NHL, Division I collegiate, junior and high school levels, and in all amateur levels from mite to bantams. Kathleen formerly served as Director for the Braemar Skate School, and is the Power Skating Instructor for Breakaway Academy. Prior to becoming a skating coach, Kathleen starred as a performer in both Stars on Ice and Disney on Ice. She was also a two-time World Professional Bronze Medalist, and a two-time U.S. Open Champion figure skater.
KYLE PETO
THOMAS GAZICH
Thomas is Kathleen's son who has played varsity hockey in high school and in the High School Elite League. He has played Junior Hockey in the NAHL, NA3HL and NOJHL in St. Cloud, Great Falls, Montana and Ontario, Canada. Thomas is currently playing hockey for D3 University of Dubuque. Thomas has been power skating with his mother for many years and will be able to demonstrate the techniques that create solid foundations with skating. Thomas has also been working at Impact Hockey in Minnetonka for the last 7 years.

Kyle originally came to Minnesota from Canada on a full Scholarship to Mankato State where he still holds the record for most points by a defenseman. He played professional hockey for 7 years in the US and Europe before settling here. He has coached at Shattuck St. Mary's and is currently a coach for Breakaway Academy. Kyle is a great teacher of the skills required to get to the next level.
AMY BROLSMA
Amy is a Master Rated Professional with 28 years of teaching experience from the beginning to the NHL. Amy spent 25 years developing National figure skaters and NHL hockey players in the Northeast Wisconsin area. Her players and teams play in many leagues around the country including the Green Bay Gamblers(USHL), AAA programs, state winning High School programs and local associations. She currently works with area associations, the MN Lakers, and top players in Minnesota.

LAURA MITCHELL
​Laura is a US Figure Skating/Professional Skaters Association Rated Coach with 30+ years experience guiding beginner to elite-level figure skaters and hockey players. She’s spent her career coaching in Minnesota, the East Coast, and most recently Tennessee where she was a member of the Nashville Predators’ Scott Hamilton Skating Academy. Her players have achieved State and National titles, have been drafted/played WHL/USHL/NAHL and NCAA hockey. Now back in her home state of Minnesota, she’s working with various hockey associations, AAA programs, and private clients.
